In the futuristic sense of apartment designs, metallic furniture and equipment are most popular. These provide a clean, sassy and elegant aesthetics to your futuristic theme. This theme is most commonly used in modern condominiums and bachelor’s pads.
One area of the apartment that can really benefit from the aesthetics of a futuristic/metallic theme is the kitchen area. Gone are the days where white is the common design for kitchens. Since this is the area where all food preparation and storage is done, this is prone to dirt, stains and mess. Metallic themes can make this dilemma hardly evident.

Philippine comedian actress Ai Ai Delas Alas did not make a mistake in spending a fortune on her newest enclave at Quezon City. The house oozes sophistication and minimalistic elegance, a project expected no less of architect Ricky Solatorio.
To keep the mood subdued and to highlight the contrast from her previous home, also in Quezon City, the actress pressed upon limiting colors to two in the design, brown and white. In interior design, the actress also staunchly insisted on taking charge, adding her personal touch by filling her home with cultural wooden and clay pieces from different places which were by no means out of place.

Electric fireplaces are fireplaces that, as the name implies, run through electricity. Two types of electric fireplaces exist. One is a heater and one serves for aesthetic purposes only. Other varieties or combinations may also appear from time to time in the market. Generally speaking, people who are for the aesthetic purposes of fireplaces do not usually purchase electric fireplaces as a practical replacement for real fire places. No matter how convincing the fiber optics can be or how high definition the LCD can be, nothing beats the dance of a true flame and its hypnotizing effects on people who love to stare at fire.

To start off, there are many types of fireplaces. First of all, there is the direct vent fireplace and the unvented fireplace. Direct vent fireplaces have a glass protecting the front of the fireplace so that loose sparks may not be spat out and a column leading outside where all the combustion, exhaust, and moisture are expelled. Unvented fireplaces meanwhile have no glass front. All the combustion, exhaust, and moisture have nowhere to go except through the only opening, the front.
Naturally of course, a direct vent fireplace is the healthier option of the two. However, not every type of accommodation can accommodate a direct vent fireplace. Some, like apartments, condos, or flats ought to opt for electrical fireplaces.

In the reality series top design, one of the most common features in making chic apartments is the maximization of the space available like majority of Carisa’s designs. One way to maximize this space is by using big (and I mean big) cabinets. They can hold a large number of things in the least amount of space available.
But some would say that the use of cabinets is already out of fashion. Then you can opt to use shelves and frames. These nowadays are both functional and trendy. And lastly, it serves its main purpose of maximizing your space.

Too often we hear arguments that a garden is only a luxury that people can do without so long as they have a roof over their heads. But, most people believed that a house can only be a home if it has a garden. Even a small garden can make a home much richer, a sanctuary for the creative mind to bear fruit and as a retreat for a tired soul. A garden is essential to a home because it brings us back to mother nature, showing us that there is an order to things, that we are part of that order, and that in it, it is indeed possible to carve our very own special place; living intimately with nature, the mother of us all.

With catch phrases such as “paradise in the city” and “resort living”, the Bay Garden Mactan Tower, Federal land’s condominium development in Metropolitan Park along Roxas Boulevard is one instance of what might be called the “green development” trend. Not only are its outdoor spaces landscaped, but its units were also thought out as extensions of the paradisaical theme. Its three bedroom Unit K makes a contemporary resort ambiance, the color scheme used were eggshell white for the walls and earth toned teak parquet and accessories made of natural materials, suggesting a calm union with nature. Upon entry, one takes in the flowing space from the foyer to the dining and living areas and to a view of Manila Bay beyond. With the sea at your window and nature’s element enhancing your dwelling, living in the city surely means living green.(Source:myhome magazine)
